Carissa Howard on the Huffington Post

My blog was featured on the Huffington Post this past week. Not once, but three different articles. In case you missed it, here they are, along with my bio:

A Letter to My Future Self About My Kids’ College Admittance

10 Reasons Why Your Family Spring Break is Going to be Fabulous

26 Things Irish People Find Fascinating About America
Getting published on the HuffPost is a big achievement, mainly for exposure. Some people asked how I did it. I followed this article’s advice. Thank you, Ari Adams for your tips.

I sent the full Irish in America article to Arianna Huffington directly. It was the first and only query that I sent to her. I chose that one because it had a different angle. The mommy / parenting space is crowded, as many of my readers know. I thought if I went to Arianna with more of a lifestyle piece, that would set me apart from all the parenting blogs out there.

Within two days, she responded. Yes, I have an email from Arianna Huffington in my inbox. It was very exciting. She had an editor send me instructions for setting up a blogger account. Once I had the account set up, I started submitting. I was lucky that all of my articles that I submitted were selected for publication.

Thanks for all the encouragement and love on Facebook and Twitter. I can’t promise that next week will be as exciting, but I’ll try to keep it up.
