in Humor, Kid Time, Me Time, Parenting Advice

As a mother of a six and four-year-old, I realize that my home is going to contain some amount of plastic crap. The endless collections of dolls, LEGO sets, action figures, books, kindles, DVDs, CDs, cars, trains, trucks, board games, Disney figurines, BarbiesPretty Ponies, crayons, and makers are standard issue for any boy and girl. For my husband and me, I stock plenty of bottles of wine (see my post – 6 Things My Kids Know About Alcohol). But, I’ve compiled a list of the random things that my kids love to collect.

Are My Kids Too Big for a Double Stroller?

in Humor, Kid Time, Me Time, Parenting Advice

We’re celebrating my son’s sixth birthday and my daughter’s fourth this weekend.

Hearing the F-word on the bus

in Humor, Kid Time, Me Time, Parenting Advice

The first several weeks of kindergarten have passed uneventfully for my five-year-old son. Considering all that I have done to get him ready for full-day school, I’m very thankful.

My husband and I were nervous about him riding the bus. I’m sure every parent of a kindergartener goes through this

The Craziest Thing we Do for Our Kids

in Humor, Kid Time, Me Time, Parenting Advice

I took my two preschoolers to a play date a few months ago where the host served baby carrots cut length-wise. Yes, she cut the larger ones length-wise into skinnier, smaller-in-diameter, easier-to-eat baby carrots. What a thoughtful mother, I had thought to myself at the time once I saw my three-year-old daughter eat a handful of them.

My lunchtimes haven’t been the same since.
